Week #1 I'm Alive

Hey crew, first day in the MTC is DONE!

I had a red-eye flight so we arrived in Brazil at like 7am, with pretty much NO sleep. But luckily there were about 20 other missionaries with me also going to the MTC, so there's safety in numbers!! It took forever to get through the airport and to wait for our buses, but when we finally got off and into the city it was AWESOME! Sao Paulo is HUGE, there's bunches of tall buildings everywhere, not in just one patch.

For some reason everyone was super excited and suddenly not tired anymore when we got to the MTC. We were legit just screaming with excitement at every little thing. The Brazilians thought it was so funny, it was great. There are a lot more Brazilians here than North Americans, so English speakers are definitely the minority, but that just means we'll be learning the language faster!!

We got lots of time to unpack our stuff and take showers before we had some meetings for the rest of the night.

On Wednesday, which is our pday from now on, we get to go to the temple!! We have to wake up at like 5am, but it's SO worth it! We got to go to Campinas temple, which was GORGEOUS and we also got to see a TON of the beautiful countryside during the hour and half drive. There's lots of poor slums all bunched in groups, they're called flavellas. Even though the houses are in pretty bad shape they're really colorful, so they actually look kinda cheery!

The MTC is FANTASTIC, everyone here is so nice and willing to work with you even though my Portuguese is pretty much nonexistent... But they love it! The food here is also pretty interesting, there's always lots of fresh fruit so that's a safe bet when everything else looks a little concerning.

Anyways, it's great to be a missionary!! Its still kinda crazy to walk past a mirror and see my tag, I get surprised every time. But I'm so excited to be here and to start working! We have our first devotional with the MTC president tonight and then our Portuguese classes start tomorrow!!

Love you all, thanks for your love and support!!

Com amor, Sister Rosenberg

P.S.- bad news, we can't send any pictures form the mtc cause the computers are too old... so no pictures for the next 6 weeks until I get out into the field!
